This was a revisit study of villages located
within TATR. It was to research the socio-economic status of people
located with a Protected Area (PA) like Tadoba-Andhari Tiger
Reserve. Six villages are located within the reserve with pending
relocation for nearly two decades. With limited facilities and
practically no development work for these villages, life within a PA
is difficult, and is affecting the socio-economic status of the
people. For subsistence and livelihood they have to depend on the
forest within the PA. The first study in 1997 estimated an average
of Rs. 17, 579 worth of forest products and income from the forest
per household. The revisit study shows that the dependence remains
equally high.
