Harini
is Asia Research Coordinator, Center for the Study of Institutions,
Population, and Environmental Changes (CIPEC), Indiana University.
She is also Branco Weiss Fellow and Faculty Fellow of Ashoka Trust
for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE). Her doctoral
research was on use of satellite imagery to assess species
diversity. Her present research interests are landscape ecology,
local and regional drivers of land use, and biodiversity and forest
change in community forests and parks. She has published extensively
in national and international journals.

Pranab
is currently working as Environmental Economist of
South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics (SANDEE).
Earlier
he was teaching Economics at Goa University, India. He graduated from Presidency College, Calcutta and his doctoral work at
Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has published in journals
like the Environment and Development Economics and
Economic and Political Weekly and in the past been a visiting
scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, Warwick
University, UK and the Centre for Urban Economic Studies, Calcutta
University.
Ashwin Bhouraskar,

Ashwin
is a consultant in the area of the environment and natural resource
management, with a special interest in participatory approaches for
biodiversity conservation and rural poverty reduction in South Asia
and the developing world. He is currently working with the World
Bank's Independent Evaluation Group, where he has been evaluating
the World Bank's assistance for the environment and renewable
energy. In the past, Ashwin conducted research and
capacity-strengthening on food security-related issues with the
International Food Policy Research Institute. Ashwin is also an Honorary
Fellow of the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the
Environment.

Arabinda,
Associate Professor, is a Ph.D. in Economics from the Sambalpur
University, Orissa, and is currently teaching Resource and
Environmental Economics in the Department of Natural Resources, TERI
University, New Delhi. He has conducted a number of research
projects for various national and international sponsor
agencies on themes relating to common property water resources,
forest resources, tribal needs, power sector reform, natural
resource accounting, national health accounts, drought impact
assessment, trade related environmental regulations. His
current area of research interest is community-based natural
resources management.
