Dont Be Afraid of Kitchen Or Bath Design

When designing for a new kitchen or bath, some people are intimidated by the large selections of plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, ceramic tile choices and all the other things that go into remodeling your kitchen and bath.

Don't be. Kitchens and baths are the best dollar return value when renovating your home. A St Paul kitchen makeover returns 80% value when done. In some homes you can get over 100% return.

There are things to watch for but your kitchen, bath contractor should be experienced in what offerings you should consider and what you should think twice about.

Hot remodeling can be traditional Cherry wood cabinets with a chocolate glaze over a Cambria quartz top, or Maple in a Shaker style over a lush granite counter top. Under cabinet lighting to show off your new tile backsplash will round out the view.

Remodeling can be regional; a kitchen remodel in Minnesota may follow a design that would be considered too country for Los Angeles and a kitchen makeover in New York may be too bold for a Minneapolis kitchen. But don't let that stop you from getting what you want. Remodeling means compromise sometimes.

Kitchen design is taught in classes sponsored by the National Kitchen Bath Association. Many of its kitchen design students go on to excel at remodeling. Many great kitchen remodel experts never took design classes and yet their kitchens and baths win design contests the same as people who graduated in this specialty. Experience is the key. Talent doesn't come from school, but a good design program brings that design talent out.
